Zsofia Novak awarded BSCB Young Cell Biologist of the Year

Zsofia Novak a PhD student in the Raff Lab has won the prestigious Young Cell Biologist of the Year award from the British Society for Cell Biology (BSCB).


Zsofia’s poster presentation on centriole duplication licensing was selected by a committee of eminent cell biologists as the best poster presentation during the society’s Spring meeting at the University of Warwick from 16 – 19 March.


On winning the award, Zsofia said: ‘’I couldn’t be more happy about winning, it is my first scientific award so it is very special to me!’’


Zsofia’s prize is an expenses paid trip to the American Society for Cell Biology Annual Meeting to be held in Philadelphia from 6 – 10 December 2014.


As a condition of acceptance, she will write a report on the Philadelphia meeting to be published in the BSCB newsletter.
