Philip Cobden and Wayne Swan nominated for a Vice-Chancellor’s professional services award

The Dunn School’s very own safety officer and support services manager Philip Cobden, and facilities manager Wayne Swan, have been nominated for a Vice-Chancellor’s professional services award.

The Awards aim to “recognise the extraordinary contribution that colleagues in administrative, professional, and support roles make to the University, and to furthering Oxford’s academic mission.” In particular, the Awards celebrate colleagues working in the spirit of Professional Services Together, the University’s framework for spreading best practice across its professional services.

Out of over 130 nominations across all categories for the 2023 awards, Philip and Wayne have been shortlisted along with 4 other individuals or groups in the Outstanding Support category, which is “for colleagues who have put the needs of staff, students and other groups at the heart of how they deliver their services.” Making the shortlist is testament in itself to their outstanding contributions to the Dunn School.

The final winners will be announced on the 21st of March. We do sincerely hope that Wayne and Phil get the award as a lasting recognition of the quality and diligence of their work!
