Monika Gullerova recognised with Full Professor Title

Many congratulations to Monika, who is now Professor of Molecular Medicine

This recognition is part of the University of Oxford’s annual Recognition of Distinction Exercise. Prof Gullerova is also Tutor of Medicine at Wadham College.

Prof Gullerova studied molecular biology at Comenius University in Bratislava and did her PhD at the University of Vienna. In 2006 she joined Professor Nicholas Proudfoot’s laboratory in Oxford as a postdoctoral fellow investigating functions of Cohesin and RNA interference pathways. During this time she was awarded the L’Oreal/UNESCO Women in Science UK award and joined Exeter College as Staines Medical Research Fellow. Monika established her own laboratory at the Dunn School in 2013, and her group is interested in the DNA damage response, in particular how RNA mediates rapid and efficient DNA damage repair. She is also interested in how basic science can be translated into drug development. She is an Academic founder, Senior scientific advisor and Consultant in molecular medicine for Dark Blue Therapeutics
