The Dunn School is delighted to announce that we had five winners in the 2015 Medical Sciences Teaching Excellence Awards. These prestigious Oxford awards recognise outstanding contributions to undergraduate teaching.
The winners were Professors Quentin Sattentau and Chris Norbury and Associate Professor Paul Fairchild, as well as senior postdocs Rachel Exley and Ed Hutchinson, who both won early career awards.
Winners will receive their awards at a ceremony hosted by the Division during Michaelmas Term. They will also be guests at a University wide celebration at Rhodes House.
Head of Department, Matthew Freeman said: “the Department always tends to emphasise research success, and I am as guilty of that as anyone. But excellent teaching is also a critical part of our mission, and the work done by these winners is hugely appreciated.
I am also particularly pleased to see Rachel and Ed being recognised as early career winners. They are both are great examples of how excellent research and teaching can be combined. It also illustrates that the Dunn School can provide training and mentorship for postdocs who are interested in teaching experience.”
