Oxford scientists Dr. Ulrike Gruneberg (Dunn School of Pathology), Professors Bela Novak and Francis Barr (Department of Biochemistry) together with Dr. Helfried Hochegger at the University of Sussex and Dr. Chris Bakal at the ICR, London, have been awarded a £3m prestigious BBSRC strategic LoLa grant to investigate fundamental questions about mammalian cell cycle controls. This grant – one of only five awarded – brings together a group of world class experimental scientists and computational modelers to analyse the rules underlying mammalian cell cycle transitions by using a combination of computational modeling and cutting edge biochemical and imaging techniques.
