Sir Henry Dale Fellowship award supports Group Leader transition for Aartjan te Velthuis

Dr Arend (Aartjan) te Velthuis, a postdoc in Ervin Fodor’s group, has been awarded a Sir Henry Dale Fellowship, the Wellcome Trust announced in June 2017.

The award supports Aartjan’s transition from postdoctoral researcher to group leader and his move to the Department of Pathology, University of Cambridge in September.

The transition to group leader is a career milestone. Aartjan said: “I am absolutely thrilled with the award and the opportunity to establish a lab group in Cambridge.”

Aartjan is currently a Henry Wellcome Postdoctoral Fellow at the Dunn School and leaves the department at the end of next month. He will continue his research on the biochemistry and biophysics of the RNA polymerases of RNA viruses, such as flu, following his move to Cambridge.

The Sir Henry Dale Fellowships scheme is a partnership between the Royal Society and the Wellcome Trust. For further details see: https://wellcome.ac.uk/funding/sir-henry-dale-fellowships
