Dunn School hosts British Heart Foundation delegation following renewal of cardiovascular science course funding
The visit further cements the relationship between the charity and the University of Oxford following the BHF award of four fully funded places for graduate students entering the four-year DPhil in Cardiovascular Science course in 2017 – 2020. The British Heart Foundation has been providing funding since the course began in 2008 and the funding renewal reaffirms the organisation’s commitment to the scheme.
Head of Department, Matthew Freeman said: “The Dunn School is honoured by the British Heart Foundation delegation visit and the organisation’s continued support to graduate studies in the department.”
During the away day BHF medical directors and research staff enjoyed a tour of the building and visit to the Greaves’ lab. Professor Greaves is the director of graduate studies for the course.
Speaking during the visit Professor Greaves said: “I am delighted to host the delegation and look forward to mentoring the next generation of scientists studying cardiovascular biology in the University of Oxford thanks to the British Heart Foundation’s generous support.”
