Susan Lea elected EMBO member

Susan Lea, Chair of Microbiology, has been elected as a new member of EMBO, the organisation to promote excellence in the life sciences, announced yesterday.


She is one of 18 women and 40 men viewed as outstanding researchers elected for membership this year joining a body of over 1700 life scientists.


Maria Leptin, EMBO Director, said: “We welcome these exceptional scientists to EMBO and look forward to their input.”


EMBO draws its membership mainly from Europe and neighbouring countries and includes associate members from China, Japan, New Zealand and the United States.


EMBO Members help steer the organization in its mission to promote excellence in the life sciences.
