Our research focuses on the regulation of influenza virus gene expression by the viral RNA polymerase and the molecular interactions between influenza virus and the host cell. We are interested in understanding the molecular basis of host range restriction and pathogenicity of influenza viruses as well as the molecular mechanisms of cellular responses to viral infection.

Research Details

  • Structural and functional analysis of the influenza virus RNA polymerase
  • Molecular mechanisms of transcription and replication of the influenza virus genomic RNA by the viral RNA polymerase
  • Molecular interactions between the viral transcriptional machinery and the host cell
  • The role of the influenza virus RNA polymerase in the induction and inhibition of host innate immune pathways
