We now know the exact sequence of most of the billions of bases in the human genome, but we still know almost nothing about how those bases are folded in 3-D space or how folding facilitates function. Our ultimate goal is to map these foldings and determine how the structure influences function. We apply a multi-disciplinary approach, combining molecular analyses, high-resolution imaging, and mathematical modelling.
